Web of Us
Web of Us explores the visible and invisible connections that shape our world.
Season One ranged across disciplines - from mycelium and movement to trust-first finance and collective courage. Season Two gets specific, investigating how networks hold under pressure. Think ancient endowment systems, conductorless orchestras, community currencies, feminist funds. Not tidy solutions. Each carries real tradeoffs. Yet they seem to hold.
Hosted by Claire Wathen, Visiting Fellow at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Produced by Studio Goldstar.

Hi, I’m Claire Wathen, host of The Web of Us, a new podcast exploring the visible and invisible connections that shape our world. Every episode, we’ll deliver an insightful conversation exploring network theory from a different vantage point to help you strengthen your own networks.
Our central question? What if we’re more connected than our disciplines, industries, and languages suggest? And what worlds could that open up?
In Season One, you’ll meet experts from the University of Oxford, paired with global practitioners across technology, art, social change and more – to give you both theory and practical applications.
They will help us consider new lenses, from how to tackle systems change by thinking like a computer hacker…
[Paulo Savaget:]“I identified the essence of a hack is that they work around complex obstacles. They don't try to know everything that is in the system from the beginning.
…to why understanding the dynamics you’re operating within, is key to success…
[Paula Moreno:] ”If you don't have a vision, then you get lost.”
Our promise? Give us 30 minutes and we’ll bring you 30 minutes of connections and insights.
If you’re an entrepreneur, changemaker or mobilizer looking to better understand network theory… or simply curious in how to build your own network…this is the podcast for you.
